Vessela Nozharova was born in1974
ã. in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. She
graduated with Masters of Arts in
Art History from the National
Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia,
Bulgaria. From 1998 to 2000 Ms.
Nozharova worked at the Union of
Bulgarian Artists. In 2001 she
worked consecutively for the private
galleries “Irida” and ATA – Center
for Contemporary Art. Since 2003 she
has worked as a Visual Arts Manager
and Curator at The Red House Center
for Culture and Debate in Sofia.
Since the end of the 1990s she has
been writing criticism for
specialized art publications,
covering contemporary Bulgarian art.
She has curated numerous exhibits,
including “The 80’s – Known –
Unknown – Forgotten“ at the National
Gallery of Foreign Art in 2002;
“Dead-lock” – an exhibition-attempt
to bring together Nedko Solakov and
Svetlin Roussev at the BULART
Gallery in Varna in 2004; “Reverse”
photo-video installation by Samuil
Stoyanov at ATA-Centre for
Contemporary Art in 2004; „4Õ4”
exhibition by Ivan Mudov,
(photography, video, and
installations) at The Red House
Centre, Sofia in 2005; “Fresh, Super
Fresh!” – contemporary Bulgarian
painting, a project included in the
art exhibition “10X5X3” at the Union
of Bulgarian Artists in 2006.
