Literary Serial and Goethe-Institut present:
The Experience of ‘Poetry Slam’
lecture by Bas Boettcher
Poetry Slam is the new generation's way of expression. Directly,
funny,
aggressively, sensitively, provocatively, tastelessly or euphorically.
Some slam texts are of low quality. Other Slam texts match the
highest
literary standards.
Bas Bottcher is involved in the contemporary spoken poetry
scene in many
different ways: He used to work as a Songtexter in the German
music
business, as a pioneer of the poetry slam scene and as a poetry-video
producer.
In the Lecture 'The Experience of Poetry Slam' Bas Bottcher
shows video
examples of Berlin's lively literary scene. He presents computer
based
poetry and talks about the structures of the German spoken
word network.
Bas Bottcher will show some live examples of his Poetry synchronised
with supertitle translations. He also provides an inside view
on his
complex and rhythmical writing techniques.
February 23 (Friday), 11.00 a.m.
Pesha Nikolova hall
In German, with simultaneous translation into Bulgarian and
English subtitles for the video.
