Massimo Martignoni is an art historian with specific competence in the field of modern architecture and design. He received a Ph. D. at the University of Rome in 1997 with an essay on Gio Ponti and the Magazine “Stile” (published in 2002 by Abitare-Segesta Publishing House). He is a consultant of Piero Portaluppi Foundation and of Gio Ponti Archive in Milan, writes for “Vogue” and “Casa Vogue” and is the author of several essays and critical studies about project culture from the Thirties. He was also Visiting Professor at Stanford University (1999-2001) and teacher in the courses held in Italy by Auburn University. Since 2005 he has been teaching History of art and of architecture at NABA – New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He is going to publish a historical guide of Triennale in Milan (by Skira) and is the editor of a book on Mario Bellini designer to be published by Phaidon in 2008.
