‘Global/local’ Seminar presents:
New Global Horizons,
New Local Identities
This seminar is aimed at bridging the gap between the academically
challenged interpretations and the public debate, and follows
on from the seminars on Urban Anthropology and Economic Culture,
held last year. It is open to educated experts who may take
interest in its topic. The organizers’ intention is to start
off with particular and challenging facts before we turn to
generalizations. Multimedia presentations will be made to
illustrate these facts as the seminar unfolds and to help
participants identify discussion points.
Ivailo Dichev is a Professor at the History and Theory of
Culture Department, Sofia University. ’Spaces of Desire, Desire
