SIDE BY SIDE OR FACE TO FACE
Israelis and Palestinians: 50 years of photography by Jean
Mohr
Curators: Jean-Francois Berger, Roger Mayou, with the assistance
of Jean Mohr

This exhibition of some 70 photos portrays day-to-day life
in Israel and the Palestinian territories between 1949 and
2002. It shows ordinary people, the worried faces of women,
solemn old men and the expectant attitude of the young. It
also bears witness to the commitment of the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and its local partners,
the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the Magen David Adom.
Taking us on a journey through time, Jean Mohr’s work reflects
in its own subtle way the turbulences, sometimes interspersed
with a gleam of hope.
Exhibition organized by the International Committee of the
Red Cross (ICRC) and International Red Cross and Red Crescent
Museum, Geneva. The exhibition has been shown in Geneva, Jerusalem,
Gaza, Ramallah, Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, London and Luxembourg.
