From Here To There
multimedia installation
From Here To There is a visual performance dedicated to the
poetics of life and living. Through the cyclic character of
happening – love, giving up, fusion, and birth – a beautiful
love story unravels, told by two, for two. During the performance
the audience, always consisting of two persons, is invited
to live through this story in company with kinetic sculpture
and film screening. The film’s tempo is based on the compression
of time, which is typical of the animation, in search of synthetic
image of the narrative. The dynamics resemble a running river
– visual metaphor of the time passing. The characters of the
story are presented with animated photo images. Their fate
impresses with its autobiographic strength, while the real
persons and objects that are shot – a wooden man, girl (Ana
Vilenica), bicycle – are the main acting images in the performance.
The wooden man is found in the space of the hall, too, and
its rhythmic, tenacious moves reinforce further the impression
from the fusion of the different realities in which the performance
runs.
From Here To There is created by SUBHUMAH THEATRE team, continuation
of VIA PONTICA art group. The concept and the photo images
are made by Venelin Shurelov, artist and set designer. The
character of the girl is developed by Ana Vilenica, art critique
and artist from Serbia. Animation is made by Animitar Animitrov.
