The Red House for Culture and Debate has the pleasure of inviting
you at the last performŕnce of:
Egasimus the Actresses
Authors: Milena Stanojevic, Stella Krusteva, Margarita Petrova
Costume: Tihomir Trifînov
First independent project of the “MiStMa” theatre group
In it there are pieces of dialogues, monologues, statistics,
dreams and documents (of actress’s and other (famous) artist’s
lives). They are themselves, the dreams of themselves and
actresses who change dozens of roles like the shoes of different
characters; finally they perform their role of actress. The
year of birth of every actress is connected with different
events – political and economical, calamities and murders,
artistic and scientific inventions. The statistics of those
facts are verbalized together with the story of how each of
them was born. They talk about different specifics of their
bodies, their favorite moles, the foot size, births marks
and shoulders.

Egasimus the Actresses is a performance about being yourself,
being an actress, performing being yourself and an actress.
“... Margarita Petrova, Stela Krasteva and Milena Stanojevich
perform a very natural and original theatrical confession.
In their work, the three actresses remain truthful to what
they are, to the dreams they have about themselves, performers
changing a number of personages as if changing the shoes of
different characters so that in the end they remain only with
the role of actresses. The role that makes each of them feel
“close to herself”….
39 grams newspaper, 2006

… If Petrova, Krasteva and Stanojevich have purposefully defined
themselves as “debutants”, even though no one from the audience
would have believed that, their performance could be interpreted
as a manifest or a ritual of initiation. A manifest of the
man of our time with all the roles he has to play, in which
he has to wear the shoes of many characters until he uncovers
and deserves his own personality.
A ritual of initiation into romantic subjectivism as the only
way to preserve a kind of sincere individuality within the
context of contemporary diversity.
….The generous presence of the three performers on the stage
is their perfect evidence that they have always been actresses:
in their dreams, in childhood, in the factuality of the past
and the subjectivism of reality. “Egasimus the actresses!”
