No Doubt
three one-act pieces by Georges Feydeau
With the participation of: Ivaylo Zahariev, Diana Nikolaeva, Haritina Agopian; Director: Ivan Kovatchev
Though critics at the time dismissed Feydeau's works as light entertainment, he is now recognized as one of the great French playwrights of his era. Some have even gone so far as to refer to him as the "Bach of his form." His plays are seen today as precursors to Surrealist and Dada theatre, and the Theatre of the Absurd. His plays have been continuously revived and are still widely performed today. Without a Doubt includes Feydeau's first two full plays - Through the Window (Par la fenetre, 1882), written at age twenty, and Love and Piano (Amour et piano, 1883), his first professionally produced project, which received critical praise, along with “Our Fiance” (1894).

Idea: Iva Sveshtarova; Directing: Iva Sveshtarova in co-operation with the performers; With the participation of: Ralitsa Kashova, Mila Odazhieva, Iva Sveshtarova; Visual surrounding: Mаrio Bessa – Portugal; Costumes: Neli Mitewa
The idea of the Mirror Phase performance was inspired by Egon Schiele’s paintings: his auto-portraits and his painting of nude women’s bodies. A methodological work, based on the research of Schiele’s paintings (especially his self-portraits and his erotic drawings) that generate physical actions. The physical actions are created by the interaction of Schiele’s bodies, emanating delight as well as anguish, expressed very often in a lascivious way; and their transformation in the body of the performers. “Bodies have their own light that accompanies them throughout their life. They burn up, or they will do so one day. Positive and negative electricity complement each other as a new whole.” Egon Schiele

Baroque Music French Style
This first concert of „The Royal Musical Family” project presents the music of the French royal court during the epoch of absolutism. In this period the so-called “French style” (stile francese) is easily distinguished by its expressed vitality among the various European musical styles. Its characteristic impression, the preference towards unexpected affective twists and the drive towards the shocking and extraordinary is demonstrated with the most widely spread musical instruments of the period – traverso (Dimitre Marinkev), lute (Yavor Genov) and harpsichord (Yanko Marinov).
The program features pieces by Robert de Visée (the personal guitar and lute tutor of Louis XIV), Michel Blavet, Jacques-Martin Hotteterre and François Couperin.

Tchaikovsky
improvisation and music collage by Galina Borissova
In the course of the years the neurotic traits of the character deepen. I don’t want to give up. What amuse me now are the swans, the feathers and the navy blue. I want to stay naive, but not subordinated to some transient fashion styles. That is why I ask you to listen together to Tchaikovsky and to re-invent the classical clichés. The depletion of meanings amuses me, challenges me and makes me concentrate. Let’s be banal.

Fondation Cie Fabienne Berger, Switzerland presents:
Elle (s)
multimedia dance performance
Concept, choreography and dance - Fabienne Berger; Original music - Christian Garcia (Velma); Video - Bastien Genoux, Bruno Deville; Lighting - Dominique Dardant, Guillaume Rossier; Lighting technician - Eloi Gianini; Stage design - Carola Bürgi; Costumes - Claude Rueger; Make-up - Nathalie Monod; Assistant and sound technician - Floriane Piguet; Video technician - Yvan von Arx; Outside eye - Dominique Bourquin
French-speaking Swiss choreographer Fabienne Berger impresses by her complex and surprising video set-up, inquiring into how one body can create the illusion of several others through movement and images (through movement and images). On the stage she uses subtly projected images – mostly close-up portraits – and her own image filmed in real time. This gives a plethora of movements which gradually become a multiplicity of identities. Concentrated body language, movements sometimes barely suggested, welcome changes of pace, and breadth of gesture are all part of this dancer's impressive mastery of her scenic language.
A production of Fondation Cie Fabienne Berger, Xavier Munger (Switzerland)
With the support of Arts Council of Switzerland Pro Helvetia.

Mmm – Music, Mystic, Meanings… Balkan Mix
Drawings and Sounds From Two Continents
A video presentation of Ceren Oykut and Talks and Life Music with Baba Zula
With the participation of Baba Zula musicians:
Murat Ertel, Levent Akman, Cosar Kamci, Mehmet Atec and Jennet Shook and their manager for Bulgaria Ekrem Ozgur.
Ceren Oykut is an independent artist and part of the Baba Zula band since 2004 when BaBa Zula added her live drawings into their original Musical mixture. Her presence onstage has added an important visual aspect to BaBa Zula's live performances.
A conversation, drawings and sounds on/from the deep Double Balkan-Oriental unconsiousness… from the Turkish musical roots going as far back as pre-Islamic, shamanic times, through Anatolia music,  past Sufi-Islamic tradition, through the music of the Turkish gypsies, to the present-day Istanbul sounds…all this which is known already as a motto of Baba Zula “Oriental Dub”.
In Turkish and in English, with simultaneous interpretation in Bulgarian.

Blast Performance Group, Sweden presents:
Swedish Coffee Party
performance
With the participation of: Pia Suonvieri, Sofi Källner, Kenneth Mikko and Marika Savikuja
The performance group Blast was founded in 1992 by three women from the small northern Swedish town of Haparanda. One could say that Blast has been a pioneer of performance art in the northern periphery. The group has made guest visits in France, Russia, Denmark and Finland. To Sofia, Blast arrives with a newly produced performance “Fika–Swedish Coffee Party”. It is about Swedishness, Swedish traditions and customs. In the performance you meet royalties, blondes and more or less surrealistic creatures. The performance is humoristic, visual and daring. The guest visit is part of an international culture exchange between Sweden and Bulgaria. Blast will also take part in the workshop led by Pia Suonvieri and Hans T. Sternudd from Sweden (see October 8).

Mirror Phase
performance
Idea: Iva Sveshtarova; Directing: Iva Sveshtarova in co-operation with the performers; With the participation of: Ralitsa Kashova, Mila Odazhieva, Iva Sveshtarova; Visual surrounding: Mаrio Bessa – Portugal; Costumes: Neli Mitewa
The idea of the Mirror Phase performance was inspired by Egon Schiele’s paintings: his auto-portraits and his painting of nude women's bodies.
Supported by Fund for Support of Debut Projects;
National Fund „Culture”, Swiss Cultural Programme in Bulgaria, Goethe Institute - Sofia and Cult.bg Foundation
Partner: The Red House
