On Abstract Sentimentalism

Nasekomix – a Bulgarian band. Aggressively-sentimental eclectic of electronic and live instruments dominated by the voice of Andronia Popova. Vivid music vs. minimalistic-sentimental lyrics.
The members of the band take part in other music projects as well.
Nasekomix are trio. Each performance of the band is unique and specially prepared. For that purpose they work with guest musicians.
Everything starts in 2001 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Since then the band has a multimedia album released – “Insectomix (an absolutely pirate production)” and the track “Dreamsong” is included in the vinyl compilation “Sophyastickated”.
Nasekomix is a band that really can play live. They have many gigs in clubs and at festivals in Sofia, as well as at some special places in the city: The Red House Centre for Culture and Debate, The Art-Hostel Usually We Spend Our Time in the Garden, The French Institute.
More often they play in other countries in Europe:
Metropolis (Wroclaw, Poland), Horte (Straussberg, Germany), Le Biplan (Lille, France), Matadero (Huesca, Spain)
At the festival "Color Of Music" (Padova, Italy 2001; Berlin, Germany 2002; Arras, France 2003; Cadiz, Spain 2004)





Members:

Andronia Popova – the singer of the band, also plays the accordion. She is a music graduate. Recently she has worked on the music of the documentary of the young director Zornica-Sophia called “The death and all the way back”.
Michail Yossifov – the guitar player of the band, he is studying music at New Bulgarian University, additionally plays the guitar in different hard-core bands in Sofia.
Todor Krst – the drummer of the band. Graduated theatre in NATFA (National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts) – Sofia.
