Saborna
Street
exhibition by Dessislava Morozova
About Saborna Street project as a spatial event having occupied
the place between the hat and the shed.
The beginning is a paper body which has to be unfolded and
folded to a paper sculpture. There are drawings of umbrellas,
as well as texts, describing ordinary things and happenings
seen during walks with an umbrella. The book has been distributed
among 800 persons with the invitation to send back their own
drawings, photos, texts with which to participate in the Saborna
Street exhibition.
The exhibition, which is an important part from the project,
is in two parts.
The first part entitled “When does the umbrella become a line,
a ‘gutter’ along which water drains away?” is an installation
consisted of four linear elements organizing a concrete walking
line for a viewer in the first hall. In them, under glass
layers, drawings, photos and texts have been exposed – all
of them sent by the receivers of the Saborna Street book.
The second part entitled “How/When do umbrellas comprise a
shed?” is a bookbindery placed in the neighbouring hall. There
any viewer can make his/her own book with the drawings, texts
and photos sent as “answers” by the receivers of the Saborna
Street book.
