Donors of the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate

MATRA Programme of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The programme has started in 1994 with the aim to support the democratic processes in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. MATRA funds the institutional development of the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate as well as some of its programmes.

Prins Bernhard Cultural Foundation
This is a private Dutch foundation which has recently started supporting cultural projects in Central and Eastern Europe. The Red House Centre for Culture and Debate has been funded for the purchase of equipment for the multifunctional room of the center.

Beautiful Sofia Programme
The Beautiful Bulgaria Programme aims to alleviate unemployment, while improving the living environment of the target cities, raising the tourism attractiveness of the country while strengthening small and medium enterprises. The Programme is funded by the Bulgarian Government, the European Union (EU), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Sofia municipality, as well as separate governments. Beautiful Bulgaria Programme funds part of the renovation of the Red House.

Open Society Institute - Sofia
With its activities the Open Society Institute – Sofia aims to promote, help develop and sustain the values, attitudes and practices of the open society in Bulgaria and to support Bulgaria’s integration into United Europe from a broad civic perspective. Open Society Institute supports the institutional development of the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate.

European Cultural Foundation
The European Cultural Foundation was founded in order to add a cultural and human dimension to the economic, technical and legal processes of European integration. The Foundation developes innovative programmes to encourage respect for cultural diversity. The Red House gets funding from the European Cultural Foundation for the Arts for Social Change programme.

THEOREM, association supported by the Culture 2000 programme of the European Union
The THEOREM association is an international cooperative network of 24 individual members from 15 European countries. It was founded in 1999 with a view on advancing new stage productions by talented East European directors and facilitating their passageway to the theatres and festival stages in Western Europe THEOREM activists represent international festivals, theatres, associate producers, etc. THEOREM’s coordination center is now in Riga, under the roof of New Theatre Institute – Latvia. THEOREM activities include co-operative production and promotion of the stage work and developing process-oriented branches: workshops and seminars; residence introductions of performing artists and dancers; events stimulating mobility and circulation of experience between artists, producers and critics.

Open Society Institute - Budapest
The Open Society Institute - Budapest is a private operating and grant making foundation that develops and implements a range of programs in civil society, culture, education, media, public administration, public health, and human and women's rights, as well as social, legal and economic reform. The Open Society Institute funds Open Code Software for NGOs.

Phare Access 2000 Programme, European Commission
Phare Access programme of the European Commission is established in 1993 and is one of the main instruments of the EU for real implementation of the principles of rule of the law, human rights protection and protection of minorities through the implementation of efficient institutional networks and the support of their sustainable development. Phare Access 2000 funded the continuation of the Arts for Social Change Programme for 2003.

Swiss Cultural Programme for Bulgaria
The Swiss Cultural Programme for Bulgaria supports projects of cultural organizations and associations in the field of contemporary art. It finances activities of the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate related to promotion of contemporary dance.

Culture 2000 supports the cooperation between organizations working in the field of arts and culture in Europe. The programme finances the participation of the Red House Cenre for Culture and Debate in the project of the Association for the development of contemporary dance CoDaCo.
